Duke Energy (or Progress Energy)

To whom it may concern:

I am a monthly rate-paying customer and my household uses electricity produced by your company on a daily basis. We are also residents of North Carolina who are acutely aware of the negative impact power generation can have on our health, the economy and the environment of our region.

Policies that incorporate energy efficiency, conservation and the investment in renewable energy technologies and resources such as wind, solar and biogas are now capable of meeting all future energy demand.  As one of your customers I want you to begin to adopt these policies immediately as the older, more destructive technologies of burning fossil fuels and using dangerous, expensive nuclear fission are phased out.  I am opposed to the construction of any and all new power plants that produce polluting and greenhouse gas emissions or nuclear waste.  It is unnecessary, wasteful and moves us in the wrong direction.  Think of our children.
